NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Volunteers from the Red Cross and EMS professionals will staff multiple first-aid tents along parade routes this year.
Starting Friday and all the way through Mardi Gras Day revelers will find first aid locations at five main intersections along the Uptown Route.
The first aid tents are at:
- The corner of St. Charles and Napoleon Avenues
- St. Charles and Washington
- St. Charles and Felicity
- Lee Circle
- St. Charles at Canal
EMS said last year volunteers treated at least 700 patients at these tents while EMS responded to more than 3,000 calls for service during the Mardi Gras season.
Health workers said additional man power on the route is an important part of keeping parade goers safe.
