Prospects of Greg Monroe playing for hometown Pels 'gaining momentum'

The Pelicans possibly obtaining New Orleans native Greg Monroe is gaining significant momentum' according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

In the report Pels coach Alvin Gentry spoke to the Helen Cox alum in the aftermath of his contract buyout from the Suns. The Pelicans' ability to offer Monroe the chance at a starting job in his childhood hometown is making for a compelling case with Monroe Wojnarowski said.

Monroe will be an unrestricted free agent on Friday.
