NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Carnival is in full swing and this weekend is packed with parades.
Here is a lits of parades for Saturday, February 3rd.
The Knights of Nemesis rolls in Chalmette. The krewe has about 260 riders and will start rolling at 1 p.m. from the intersection of Judge Perez and Dr. Mereaux. It will loop on Campagna before ending on Judge Perez and Jean Lafitte.
In Uptown New Orleans, the Krewe of Pontchartrain presents its 43rd annual parade. The theme for this year is "What's Filming in New Orleans." It'll start on Tchoupitoulas and Napoleon, head down St. Charles to Canal St., before ending on Poydras and Tchoupitoulas.
The Choctaw parade will follow behind with the same route. The Krewe of Freret will follow immediately after but end at Mardi Gras World.
At 6 p.m. the 300 Knights of Sparta will roll a 17-float parade with the theme "A Midsummer Knight's Dream." It starts on Magazine and Jefferson, head down Napoleon to St. Charles, turn on Canal before stopping on Tchoupitoulas and Poydras Streets.
Following behind Sparta with the same route, is the Krewe of Pygmalion with 20 floats where it's members will toss Pygmalion pigs, logo beads and lighted medallions.
Parade goers in Metairie can catch the 500-member Krewe of Caesar for 6 p.m. The parade starts by Clearview Shopping Center and will head down Veterans Boulevard to Severn, turn on 12th Street, back up Severn to Veterans, turn on Bonnabel to take a loop at Feronia before ending on Veterans and Martin Behrman.
In Slidell, the Paws parade starts for 10 a.m. The Krewe of Adonis will roll at 11:45 a.m. from Oakwood Shopping Center on the West bank. Parade goers in Covington can catch Olympia for 6 p.m. The Aquarius parade will start for 6:30 p.m. in Houma.
