Pelicans unable to overcome slow start, fall to Wolves in Minnesota

(WVUE) - A night after getting a road win against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Pelicans couldn't make it two in a row, falling to the Timberwolves 118-107, Saturday night in Minnesota.

Anthony Davis led the Pelicans (28-24) with a game-high 38 points. Davis was the only starter to score in double figures. Nikola Mirotic, making his team debut, recorded a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

The Timberwolves (34-22) were led by Jimmy Butler who tallied 30 points. Karl Anthony-Towns had 22 points and pulled down 16 rebounds.

Next up for the Pelicans is a 7 p.m. home matchup against the Utah Jazz on Monday.
