NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Founder Harry Connick, Jr. will reign as Monarch along with Keegan-Michael Key and Jaime Alexander during the Orpheus parade, in hat the krewe is calling one of the most memorable for their 25th anniversary.
"As Monarch, Harry will reign over a million citizens of the world atop his float," said Orpheus Krewe Captain Sonny Borey. "Then, at Orpheuscapade, he will join fellow New Orleans music icons as they honor the city's tricentennial."
Harry Connick, Jr. and Captain Sonny Borey founded the Krewe of Orpheus in 1993 to open the opportunity to parade to all people. Orpheus now boasts over 1400 members.
The super-krewe's parades are on Lundi Gras, or the Monday before Fat Tuesday. It is followed by a musical extravaganza called Orpheuscapade.
According to the report, the Orpheus parade, known for its lights and beautiful artistic flowers, will end when it rolls into the Morial Convention Center where Orpheuscapade is held. There, Harry Connick, Jr., and fellow Monarchs Keegan-Michael and Jaime Alexander will join over a dozen New Orleans' musical legends in this year's "Jam Fest". The lineup of music icons celebrating the city's 300th anniversary, will include, among others, Deacon John, Trombone Shorty, Irma Thomas, Al "Carnival Time" Johnson, Amanda Shaw, Big Freddia, the Dixie Cups, Vince Vance, Bonerama, Bruce "Sunpie" Barnes, FlowTribe, No Limits, and the Party Crashers.

The Krewe of Orpheus, founded in 1993 will parade from uptown New Orleans to the Morial Convention Center on Monday, February 12 at 6:00 p.m. The party continues when the parade arrives at Orpheuscapade.
