Isis may be rescheduled, Centurions start time pushed up

JEFFERSON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Jefferson Parish officials have released their contingency plans for this weekend's parades.

Due to weather, some parades may be rescheduled, and some will start earlier than originally planned.

Centurions will still roll on Friday, but will move their start time from 7:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Isis, which is set to roll down Veterans Blvd in Metairie on Saturday, may roll on Monday if the rain persists. Parade organizers said if the parade rolls on Monday, the start time will be 6:00 p.m.

Parish officials will determine Sunday's parade contingency plans Thursday after a 2 p.m. weather briefing.

According to Jefferson Parish President Mike Yenni, parish officials have also been in contact with Orleans Parish officials offering to accommodate Orleans Parish parades should they need it.

The threat of storms is in the forecast through Mardi Gras.
