The Superkrewe of Endymion said the parade is ready to roll Saturday rain or shine.

Last minute preparations are underway Friday morning as the floats leave their den and head to the staging area.

More and more people are showing up to the warehouse as the morning progresses. The tractors are about to roll in and take the floats to their staging area so they can get ready to roll.

Due to the chances for rain Saturday, parade organizers are taking extra steps to prepare the floats this year.

Floats are being wrapped up to protect the elaborate electronics on the floats.

The Krewe said the floats are upgraded every year with fiber optic and LED lighting.

Some of the floats also include smoke machines, LED televisions, confetti cannons, and animated props.

Wrapping the floats will allow the special effects to be protected from any water damage.

The Krewe is not the only one hoping for the best Saturday. Businesses in Mid-City are hoping a wet forecast won't dry  up their business on one of the busiest days of the year.
