Parade Routes: Hermes, d'etat, Selene

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Planning your weekend? There are plenty of parades to check out Friday.

Hermes, d'etat, and Morpheus will all roll uptown.

Hermes will lead the way with their 780 male members wearing lighted costumes.

The parade starts for 5:30 p.m. on Magazine and Jefferson. It will then head down Napoleon, to St. Charles around Lee Circle before stopping on Canal and University Streets. 
 
The Krewe of d'etat starts for 6:30 on Magazine and Jefferson and will head to Napoleon, go down St. Charles and end on Canal and Chartres. The krewe will present 24 satirical themed floats. A specila throw this year is the tricentennial doubloon.

Morpheus will follow d'etat for 7 p.m.

The 18th annual parade will roll from Magazine and Jefferson, turn on Napoleon, go down St. Charles to Canal Street before ending on Tchoupitoulas and Andrew Higgins. The krewe has 700 members.

In Slidell, The Krewe of Selene will start for 6:30 p.m. It will start on Spartan and Berkley, head down Pontchartrain Drive to Front Street and end on Gause Boulevard. Hand-decorated purses are Selene's top throws.

The Krewe of Centurions in Metairie will get started at  6:30 p.m. instead of the original start time of 7 p.m. due to weather. Centurions will start their route in front of Clearview Shopping Center.
