Police release identity of man shot to death Monday in Houma

HOUMA, LA (WVUE) -

Someone killed a man near a residence in Houma early Monday morning.

Police were called to the 2600 block of Truman St. shortly after 6 a.m.

They found a man dressed in dark clothing lying face down with what appeared to be several gunshot wounds. Officers identified the victim as Khari Bateast, 24.

Houma police said the investigation is in its infant stages as detectives are interviewing potential witnesses.
