Coroner identifies three men shot to death on Mardi Gras

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

New Orleans homicide investigators have identified three victims in two separate fatal shooting that happened on Mardi Gras.

Maurice Williams, 29, was killed by a gunshot wound in the 2400 block of St. Charles Ave. around 4:30 p.m., according to the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office.

Williams died at the hospital.

The New Orleans Police Department named Eddie Dingle, 21, as a suspect in the fatal shooting.

Later that evening, five people were shot in the Lower Ninth Ward, two of them were killed.

The coroner identified them as Jamar Robinson, 26, and Byron Jackson, 21.

The shooting is still under investigation.
