NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Arthur 'Mr. Okra' Robinson, the last of the New Orleans street vendors, has died at the age of 75, according to his step-son who spoke with our partners NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune.
Robinson was a beloved figure in New Orleans, where he was known for driving his brightly painted Ford F-150 loaded with fruits and vegetables through Uptown, Bywater, Bayou St. John and French Quarter streets six days a week, according to the report.
Robinson was also the center of a 12-minute film and a children's book.
