(WVUE) - Before the season tipped off, LSU was picked to finish dead last in the SEC. Will Wade and his Tigers are having the last laugh. Only, Vanderbilt, their latest victim on the court, isn't laughing.
The Tigers took care of the Commodores 88-78 to win their 16th game of the season. And why is their 16th win so impressive? It guaranteed the Tigers would reach their first goal of a winning season.
Last night in Baton Rouge, LSU rode the hot shooting of Tremont Waters, who poured in a game high 28 points, to a double-digit win. The Tigers shot a blistering 61 sixty-one percent from the field and knocked down nine three-pointers en route to the win.
So now, the Tigers, who were picked to bring up the rear in the conference, are sitting in ninth place. But, they're just a game and a half out of third.
LSU will visit the Georgia Bulldogs Saturday night.
