NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Administrators at KIPP Renaissance High School announced that the school will reopen Wednesday after to threats were made against the school on social media. Both school officials and the New Orleans Police Department have launched investigations into the matter.

School officials said Tuesday's closure was out of abundance of caution. The closure also affected Bard Early College.

Anyone with information that could help with the investigations are asked to call the New Orleans Police Department.

KIPP released the following statement Tuesday evening:

KIPP Renaissance High School will reopen tomorrow on its regular schedule.  We have made the decision to resume classes in coordination with law enforcement, and we appreciate the work the FBI and NOPD have put into investigating the social media messages that led to today’s closure. Because the safety of our students is our top priority and out of an abundance of caution, law enforcement agents and additional security staff will be on campus tomorrow.  We are grateful to our KIPP families, students and staff for their patience and understanding. We look forward to welcoming our students back to school in the morning.
