(WVUE) - Our countdown of potential free agent targets begins with a familiar face. Cornerback Patrick Robinson was the Saints' first round pick in 2010. He spent 2015 in San Diego and 2016 in Indianapolis before having a career year for Philadelphia in 2017.
Robinson's five-year run in New Orleans from 2010-2014 was a mixed bag of results. Why would the reunion work now?
Easy. Robinson is no longer an outside cornerback as he was during his early years in New Orleans. Now, he's a nickel corner and was one of the best in the league at the position last year for the Super Bowl champs. He tied his career high with four interceptions.
Spotrac estimates his market value at $6.7 million per year. A reasonable salary for his resume'. At 30 years old, the Saints wouldn't have to do any contract longer than two or three years.
