(WVUE) -

Southeastern's hopes of winning a Southland Conference regular season title remain alive after a Wednesday night 68-64 win over UNO that sets up a decisive matchup Saturday against conference-leading Nicholls.

The Lions jumped out to a double-digit lead early against the Privateers but the home team had the game tied late in the second half. SLU clamped down on defense to hold UNO scoreless for the final two and a half minutes to pick up the victory.

Coach Jay Ladner's Lions will host Nicholls Saturday at 5 p.m. and while the Colonels are 15-2 in conference, compared to SLU's 14-3, the Lions won the first meeting and would hold the head-to-head tiebreaker if they win again this weekend.
