St. Tammany firefighters stop kitchen fire from destroying home

SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) - St. Tammany Fire District #1 firefighters quick action saved a home from getting destroyed Friday.

According to a news release issued by the station, the firefighters responded to a Slidell home where neighbors saw smoke coming from the roof.

Firefighters responded to the home on Olive Drive in just under four minutes.

When firefighters arrived, they quickly forced their way into the home, attacked the fire, and had it under control in five minutes.

The cause of the fire was determined to be a scented oil diffuser burning on a stove.

No one was home, and no injuries were reported, according to the report.
