(WVUE) -

During the 2017-18 season, the lone loss for the Curtis Lady Patriots came at the hands of McKinley.

The Patriots avenged that loss Saturday, defeating the Panthers, 62-49 in the Division I Championship Game.

The win gives Curtis its second-consecutive D-I State Championship.

Jerkaila Jordan led the Patriots (31-1) with 21 points.

The Panthers (30-4) were led by Alexius Horne, who scored 18.

Two games into the preseason, and Drew Brees still hasn't got on the field. Instead, the most airtime Brees got was with the family before kickoff. Without No. 9 in the lineup, the Saints offense turned the ball over four times in the first half. The Cardinals capitalized on the mistakes, and beat the Saints, 20-15.
