TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Ponchatoula police and other law enforcement agencies arrested a "domestic extremist" who was wanted out of Missouri on weapons charges.

On March 2, a federal task force arrested Phillip Guidry in Robert, LA.

Guidry is considered a domestic extremist and is self-identified as a sovereign citizen. His ideology is anti-local, state, and federal government and he is also a convicted felon, law enforcement officials said.

A search of Guidry's compound led to the discovery and seizure of an array of firearms, including a suspected illegal fully-automatic rifle. Guidry was transported and booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on the state of Missouri warrant pending further investigation by local, state, and federal authorities.
