Covington crash demolishes car, victims saved by seatbelts

COVINGTON, LA (WVUE) - A crash demolished a vehicle near Covington, requiring firefighters to use the "Jaws of Life" to help remove two people from their vehicles.

The wreck happened Wednesday around 6 p.m. on Hwy. 25 near Vintage Ct.

Four vehicles were involved in the crash.

All of the occupants were wearing seatbelts and suffered moderate but non-life threatening injuries., according to St. Tammany Fire Dist. 12.

"We pray for a speedy recovery of those involved and remind everyone who gets in a car to please buckle up," officials said.
