(WVUE) -

The Vikings have "reached out " to Drew Brees' agent, Tom Condon, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

In the tweet, Pelissero says the Vikings plan going into the day was to engage agents for all their QB options. Right now Brees is a free agent.

Starting this morning, agents of pending free agents could start negotiating contract terms with teams. A deal cannot be official until Wednesday.

The entire offseason Brees has reiterated he'll be playing for the Black and Gold in 2018. Brees' contract will void Wednesday afternoon, and he'll count for $18 million in dead space for the upcoming season.

Two games into the preseason, and Drew Brees still hasn't got on the field. Instead, the most airtime Brees got was with the family before kickoff.
