NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Drew Brees took to Twitter to express how he felt following the contract agreement reached between him and The New Orleans Saints
Brees met with Saints management while in the building for Zach Strief's retirement.
The two-year deal is worth $50 million, with $27 million guaranteed, according to NFL.com reporter Ian Rapoport.
Brees tweeted a very simple, but fitting reaction:
In 2017, Brees led the Saints' resurgence to the playoffs with an NFL-record 72.0% completion mark, 4,334 yards, 23 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. The team's first playoff berth in 4 years was highlighted by the first home postseason win in 6 years before a last-second loss to the Vikings ended the run a week later.
2018 will be Brees' 13th season in New Orleans. He turned 39 on January 15th.
