NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner and this weekend will be packed with plenty of parades and celebrations.
The Irish Channel Parade will roll Saturday, March 17th in Uptown, New Orleans. Mass will be held at noon at St. Mary's Church. The parade will follow shortly after from the corner of Tchoupitoulas and Napoleon near Tipitina's. It will go all the way down Magazine, turn on Jackson and stop on Chippewa St.
Covington will hold its St. Patrick's Day Parade for noon on Saturday. It's set to start at the corner of Lockwood and Columbia, turn left onto Gibson right onto Lee Lane, and then left onto Rutland where it will end at Jewe's Cigar and Briar Shop.
In Downtown New Orleans, the Downtown Irish Club Parade will roll for 6 p.m.
The parade will start at Burgundy at Piety, turn on Royal, down to Frenchmen, onto Decatur, to Canal, before stopping on Bourbon and Orleans.
The Louisiana Irish-Italian Parade will wrap up the weekend in Metairie.
The parade will start at noon at Clearview Shopping Mall at Houma Blvd. It will go down Veterans to Severn, turn northbound on Severn to 17th Street, south on Severn, back to Veterans and parade up Veterans before ending at Martin Behrman.
