PLAQUEMINES PARISH, LA (WVUE) - The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office made five arrests in connection with a drug-related shooting in the Ironton subdivision that happened on Saturday.
Officers were called to Giraud St. around 5:55 p.m. Responding deputies observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed matching the description of a vehicle in connection with the shooting.
After a car and foot chase, deputies were able to apprehend the driver, Chrishaad Napolean, 17.
Deputies discovered Napolean was shot. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Deputies that responded to Giraud Street in Ironton discovered Mikal Black, 19, had sustained a gunshot related injury, where he was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
During the course of the investigation, deputies also located Dillon Moliere, 23, at a local hospital who was seeking treatment for a non-life threatening gunshot related injury that was connected to the shooting.
The subsequent investigation of the incident by detectives and the PPSO Crime Scene Unit led to the issuance of numerous arrest warrants that corresponded with search warrants and statements. Ultimately, patrol officers and detectives seized various drugs and weapons connected to the crime.
The injured men will be taken to Plaquemines Parish Detention Center after being released from the hospital.
