SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) -

One of the lead investigators in the FBI’s New Orleans office paid a visit to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Tuesday as the probe into the affairs of former Sheriff Jack Strain continues.

Last month, the FBI subpoenaed documents related to Strain and the work release program known as Workforce Solutions.

Current Sheriff Randy Smith has said he would cooperate fully with that investigation and was sending over documents.

Tuesday morning, an FBI agent carried out a box after visiting the Slidell office of the sheriff’s department for about 25 minutes. That box is believed to have contained digital records retrieved from the sheriff’s office.

Smith terminated the department’s contract with workforce solutions back in July 2016. Our partners at Nola.com | The Times-Picayune reported that the subpoena was seeking all personnel records for Strain including records pertaining to unused sick leave.

The subpoena was also seeking information pertaining to principles involved with Workforce Solutions including Alan Tingle, Brandy Hanson, Jarrett Keen and Ryan Palmer.

So far, Strain has had no comment on this investigation.
