NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The body of a woman who has been missing since October 2017 was found by New Orleans police in New Orleans East, according to investigators.
Her car was discovered near a levee shortly after she disappeared. New Orleans police said her death has now been ruled a homicide.
Louisiana State Police Crime Laboratory conducted DNA analysis comparison of Stokes DNA profile, to that of remains discovered in the Seventh District.
The analysis confirmed a match of Ms. Jean Stokes DNA profile to the DNA profile of the discovered remains.
Stokes was a long time employee of the Orleans Parish School Board and the mother of five children. She was also a grandmother and great-grandmother.
