Gentilly Waffle House customer shoots at armed intruders

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A Gentilly Waffle House customer fired back at a pair of armed robbers, according to a report by the New Orleans Police Department.

Around 10 p.m. Thursday two males entered the Waffle House at 2900 Elysian Fields Avenue with handguns. They demanded money and cell phones, according to the report.

NOPD said one of the customers shot at the perpetrators as they fled with cash.

A person was taken to the hospital, according to the report.

According to NOPD Public Information Officer Gary Scheets, the police department believes this crime may be related to an armed robbery at Burger King.
