No play sums up the Pelicans absolute destruction of the Trail Blazers more then when Anthony Davis slammed the door, literally and figuratively, on the Blazers hopes. Now the Pels leading 3 games to none on the Blazers.

"We knew they were going to come in and play desperate. We just tried to match that desperation, honestly, and play more desperate. They came out early and made some shots, but we were able to counter them and start playing a little bit of defense and were able to separate," said Anthony Davis.

For a third straight game, the Pelicans had a different player go for 30 points. On Thursday, it was Nikola Mirotic, who finished the game shooting a ridiculous 80 percent from the field. The 27 year old Yugoslavia native says he's as comfortable in New Orleans as he's ever been in his career.

"I'm very thankful for the organization and the trust they put in me bringing me here. I just wanted to show them that t hey were right bringing me here. I just want to bring good energy to the team and to the locker room, and it's been a great season for me so far," said Nikola Mirotic.

The recurring theme is the Pelicans have more weapons than Portland can defend. From AD, to Mirotic, to Jrue Holiday, the Trail Blazers haven't found an answer on either end of the floor.

"For each guy, a different guy to score 30 in all three of these games, it's been fun to watch the way we've been doing it," said Davis. "Jrue just took over game two, and Niko basically took over game three. It's been fun to watch those guys, but most important, I think it's been fun to watch us on the defensive end."

While the Pelicans made it look easy, one of the toughest parts about playing with a big lead is not letting up. But Anthony Davis says that's never a problem for him, because he still remembers that game three comeback in this building that the Warriors pulled off three years ago, and says he never wants to let it happen again. Now going into Saturday, he and the Pelicans have the chance to close the door on Portland for good.

His name has been brought up a lot since he joined the Saints after preseason last year. But the truth is quarterback Taysom Hill is a bit of a mystery. Head coach Sean Payton raved about him.
