Thousands stuff their faces at 15th annual crawfish cook-off

SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) - Thirty-five dollars went a long way in Slidell Saturday.

Thousands of residents from both shores flocked to Slidell for all-you-can-eat crawfish.

It is the largest one-day event on the Northshore.

Over 50 teams boiled more than 40,000 of mud bugs.

The teams were competing for the title of "best crawfish in St. Tammany Parish."

Organizers expected over 8,000 people at Fritchie Park.

Attendees paid only $35 to listen to four bands and eat all the crawfish they wanted.

The event benefitted the Hospice Foundation of the South.
