Pelicans fans reeling after historic sweep

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Fans are reeling after The Pelicans historic sweep of The Trail Blazers Saturday night.

"Sweep, baby, Sweep!" and "Break out the brooms!" could be heard across the Smoothie King Center after the game.

The postseason couldn't be going any better for The Pels.

For the first time since 2008, the Pelicans registered a playoff series victory, sweeping Portland in the Smoothie King Center. The Pelicans 131-123 triumph, delivered New Orleans a 4-0 series win. The 131 points scored by the Pels is a playoff franchise record.

Game four against the trailblazers was a nail biter.

The Pelicans maintained a lead, but kept fans on the edge of their seats

"We enjoyed every minute of it," said one fan. "Anthony Davis done done everybody. And when Jrue holiday toss to CJ McCollum," said another.

While many fans are still reliving their favorite moments, they are even more excited about the team's potential.

As far as how far they will go in the playoffs? Fans said they expect the team to go all the way.

The Pelicans will match up with either Golden State or San Antonio in round two. The Warriors currently lead the series 3-0.
