It was a rough start to the week on Sunday, but the work week begins on a cool and pleasant note. Lows start off in 50s on both sides of the lake which may mean you need a light jacket to get you back to work on Monday. We'll fall in line again with the pattern from the last several systems where our weather starts out quiet behind the weekend cold front.
Some wrap around clouds will filter sun Monday, but by Tuesday bright sunshine rules. That trend continues through the day on Wednesday.
The next chance of rain will come Thursday with a reinforcing cold front swinging through. Overall this system won't have a lot of energy with it so the severe threat looks relatively low at this time. The timing should work out for a dry weekend if all goes well.
Temperatures through this week into next weekend will be slightly below normal with lows in the 50s nearly every night and highs in the upper 70s to near 80. That's perfect late April weather for us as we could easily be already feeling like 90 degrees around these parts.
For those that may have seen the less active end of Sunday morning's storms, we did have a confirmed tornado in Galliano along with a couple reports of downed trees mainly confined to locations south of the lake.
