NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - There will be a temporary lane closure as travelers leave the Louis Armstrong Airport Monday.

According to the airport, contractors will temporarily close one northbound lane of Airport Access Road traveling away from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport toward I-10/Veterans Boulevard. Public safety is a top priority, and motorists are encouraged to be patient and prepared for delays by making transportation arrangements accordingly.

The closure will be in place to accommodate the installation of a high mast antenna tower on Airport property as part of the FAA's Airport Surface Surveillance Capability (ASSC) project, which is a runway-safety tool used to improve surface surveillance and situational awareness for air traffic controllers and flight crews in all kinds of weather, according to the report issued by the airport.
