Pelicans set to tip off against defending champion Warriors on Saturday night

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Pelicans will tip off Game 1 of the second round of the NBA playoffs in Oakland against Golden State Warriors at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The team announced the schedule Wednesday.

For the first time since 2008, the Pelicans registered a playoff series victory, sweeping the Portland Trailblazers in the Smoothie King Center. The Pelicans 131-123 triumph delivered New Orleans a 4-0 series win. The 131 points scored by the Pels is a playoff franchise record.

The Warriors are the defending NBA champions.
