Police searching for 'vehicle of interest' in Central City homicide investigation

New Orleans police hope someone recognizes a vehicle of interest in a homicide that happened April 18 in the Central City area.

Police responded to an aggravated battery by shooting at First St. and South Claiborne Ave. around 3:30 p.m.

Officers discovered an unresponsive male lying in the neutral ground and suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital via EMS, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses said they saw a dark gray Acura sedan fleeing from the scene. The vehicle was last seen fleeing the scene southbound onto Philip St. against traffic.
