Man charged with narcotic activity at Houma Motel

HOUMA, LA (WVUE) -

A man has been charged with narcotic activity at a Houma motel, according to police. 

The Houma Police Department said they received multiple complaints of narcotic activity at Red Carpet Inn. 

Upon further investigation, it was determined that Byron S. Causey, 32, of Marietta Place was a suspect in the case. 

On April 24 Causey was taken into custody and charged with distribution of heroin, and illegal use of CDS in the presence of a juvenile. 

They found him at the Red Carpet Inn in possession of several bags of heroin, methamphetamine, and a small amount of marijuana. 

Police said they found a 5-year-old child in the presence of the items. 

Causey was transported to the jail and booked on the aforementioned charges.
