NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A fourth man has been booked with rape in connection to the sexual assault of a Tulane student and her friend, according to The New Orleans Police Department.
Matthew Farrell, 22, was taken into custody Monday on two first degree rape charges.
Antonio Landrum, 18, was booked with third-degree rape, Jared Anderson, 18, was booked with first-degree rape, and Alexander Davenport, 20, was booked with two counts of first-degree rape, according to the report.
Two women, one who was a Tulane student, reported to police that they were raped by a group of men a few weeks ago.
The alleged sexual assault of the women happened in the 6100 block of South Claiborne Avenue after they left a popular Tulane hangout on Broadway. It occurred three hours after the women arrived at The Boot around 11 p.m.
A detective investigating the case confirms that she saw surveillance video from the bar that shows one of the victims stumbling and the other fall to the ground.
Police said the women left the bar with an unknown man and headed to their off-campus apartment. Police said shortly after the women returned home, six or seven unknown males arrived, entered the apartment and sexually assaulted both women.
The police report said that one of the women remembered leaving the bar with a man. Police identified that man as Landrum.
According to the report, Landrum invited three friends over to the student's apartment.
One of the women said one of the men who arrived, identified by the victim in a later photo lineup as Davenport, forced her to have oral sex with him, according to the article. That woman said she had sex with a man police identified as Anderson. The affidavit described that sexual encounter as "consensual."
Landrum and Anderson both confirmed to police that they did have sex with the women, according to the report.
The report said Landrum called his friends to pick him up,"yet they entered the residence."
He also told police that he saw Davenport having sex with the second woman, "while she was passed out drunk."
The judge ultimately set Landrum's bond at $50,000 on one count of 3rd degree rape and Anderson's bond at $25,000 on one count of 1st degree rape, according to the report.
Davenport's private counsel did not appear in court. The judge set his bond at $50,000 for each of the two counts of 1st degree rape.
