Judge sets Port Marigny development trial date

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - People involved in a lawsuit over plans to redevelop a stretch of Mandeville's lakefront need to wait until next year to go to trial.

According to our partners at Nola.com|The Times-Picayune, a judge has set a February 11 trail date over the Port Marigny project.

Owners of the the tract of land earmarked for the project are suing the City of Mandeville because the city has rejected their plan to transform the site into a residential and commercial development.

Opponents of the project worry the plan will worsen traffic in the area.
