Five injured in St. Claude shooting

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a shooting Tuesday morning in the St. Claude neighborhood that left five people injured.

The shooting happened on 3200 block of St. Claude Avenue.

Around 12:46 a.m., NOPD Fifth District officers received a call of shots fired in the area.

When officers they found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to the report, the victims were transported by EMS to an area hospital for treatment.

Officers later learned that two additional victims in the incident arrived at an area hospital separately to get treatment for gunshot wounds, according to NOPD.

No further details are available in this active investigation at this time.
