VIDEO: Suspect sought in unarmed carjacking in St. Roch

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is searching for a suspect sought in connection with an unarmed carjacking in St. Roch.

According to NOPD, the incident happened on April 22 around 8:45 p.m. in the 3100 block of Elysian Fields Avenue.

The victim entered the business while leaving his keys in his cup holder and car door unlocked, according to the report.

When the victim returned to his vehicle, he was approached by the suspect who told him to "move or get popped."

The car is described as a Nissan Altima with a Louisiana license plate ZZW622, according to the report.

The victim told police he moved away from the vehicle and the suspect entered the car and fled towards Interstate 610 East.

The suspect is described as having a dark complexion and a stocky build, according to NOPD. He was wearing a dark colored hoodie with stonewashed jeans.
