NOPD: Shooting in New Orleans East leaves one man dead

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police are investigating a shooting in New Orleans East that left one man dead. Officers were called to the scene Sunday, just after 7 p.m. in 4900 block of Bergerac Street.

According to police, investigators learned that the victim was a passenger in a car traveling east in the 15000 block of Dwyer Road. A silver four-door car approached the car the victim and the driver were in and shots were fired from the silver car towards the victim and the driver. The victims sped away from the location and into the 4900 block of Bergerac. The passenger, who suffered a gunshot wound to the head, was pronounced dead on the scene. It was not reported if the driver suffered any injuries in the shooting.

The investigation into the shooting continues.
