Anthony Davis and the Pelicans drop Game 4 to Warriors.

(WVUE) - It was never going to be easy.

Beating Golden State never is, especially in the playoffs, on their home court.

The Pelicans found that out again Tuesday night as they fell to the Warriors 113-104. The win gave Golden St. a 4-1 series win and set them up to face Houston in the Western Conference Finals.

The win didn't come without a late charge by the Pelicans.

Down double digits most of the game, New Orleans put together one final push, led by Anthony Davis, who finished with a game-high 34-points and 19-rebounds. An 18-2 run brought the Pels to within seven points, a true sign of just how much fight was left in this team.

The Warriors had all of the answers on this night, especially down the stretch as Draymond Green hit some big baskets.

He, along with the big three of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant, combined to score ninety-four of the teams total points.

This Western Conference Finals are where the Warriors were expected to get to.

The Pelicans, at the beginning of the season, were just hoping to get to the playoffs. The Pels one-upped them by sweeping their first round series against Portland and taking a game against the defending NBA champs.

All in all, this season was a success for the Pelicans, their re-juveinated fan base and the teams front office, head coach Alvin Gentry and GM Dell Demps, who's standing with the team had been in question all season long.

Making this playoff run has likely bought those two more time with the organization.
