GRETNA, LA (WVUE) - Ronald Gasser, the man convicted of killing former NFL player Joe McKnight during a road rage shooting, returned to court Thursday.

He was seeking to shave time off his 30-year sentence, according to the district attorney's office.

The motion to reconsider his sentence was denied.

A Jefferson Parish jury found Gasser, 56, guilty of manslaughter in the death McKnight, who also played at John Curtis.

Gasser shot McKnight three times at the intersection of Behrman Highway and Holmes Boulevard in Terrytown in December 2016.
