We are stuck in a warmer than average pattern and that will last into your mothers day weekend. It stays sunny, hot and dry to wrap up the workweek today.. A little bit of moisture still looks to arrive on Saturday for a few spotty storms, however drier air moves in again for Sunday and Monday.
There may be some changes by the middle of next week as an area of low pressure over Florida drifts in our direction. That would mean more clouds with a daily chance for showers and storms. Temperatures would likely stay in the middle 80s instead of flirting with 90 degrees.
The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality has canceled an Air Quality Alert Friday for New Orleans and surrounding parishes.
Air Quality Alerts are issued when the atmosphere is hot and humid and ozone emissions do not dissipate.
