NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A committee convened by Mayor LaToya Cantrell to help decide what should be done with the Confederate monuments that were removed last year is recommending that two of the statues go to Greenwood Cemetery near City Park and a third go to Biloxi, MS.

The committee, made up of opponents to the monuments' removal, would like to see the statues of generals Robert E. Lee and P. G. T. Beauregard moved to Greenwood. They want Jefferson Davis taken to the estate in Biloxi where the Confederate president lived after the Civil War.

The committee's recommendations were released Friday following a public records request by The New Orleans Advocate.
