NOPD: Man robbed in Treme following Uber ride

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is investigating an armed robbery in Treme Saturday morning.

Police say the incident happened just before 4 a.m.

According to the victim, he was taken to the intersection of Conti Street and North Tonti Street by his Uber driver who then told him to get out of the vehicle and take off his shirt and shoes. After, an unknown black male approached the victim, pointed a gun at him and told him to hand over his shirt, shoes, wallet and phone. Then the suspect got into the vehicle and fled the location with the Uber driver.
