(WVUE) - It's been a great Mother's Day with plenty of sunshine and nearly hot temperatures with most locations near 90. It remained mostly dry Sunday as high pressure remains in control. Monday should be mostly dry and hot as well.

Some changes are on the way by the middle of the week as an area of low pressure over the south-central Gulf drifts north. Circulation around the mid to upper low is creating a drier flow from the northeast for us Sunday and Monday. As it pulls north it brings moisture and will allow for better rain chances and more clouds mid-week.

The National Hurricane Center put out a special tropical weather outlook with regards to this system giving it a 30% chance of tropical or sub-tropical development in the next 2 days and 40% in the next 5. Regardless of any development, most effects stay east bringing a wetter couple of days to the Florida panhandle.

For us that would mean more clouds with a daily chance for showers and storms. Temperatures would likely stay in the middle 80s instead of flirting with 90 degrees.
