NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is searching for a man accused of masturbating in front of kids at a park.

According to the report, the incident happened at Washington Square Park on May 10 in the 700 block of Elysian Fields Avenue.

The victim told police that at about 2 p.m., she was with two known juveniles when her attention was drawn to an unknown man standing behind bushes in the children's playground area of the park.

The victim said that the suspect was intently staring at the children when another bystander yelled at him to stop what he was doing and to leave the park, according to the report.

The victim told police that the male went to another area of bushes where she had a clear view of him with his hand in his pants allegedly masturbating as he watched the children play.

The victim said she confronted the man about his action when he flung water onto the victim's face and fled the area, according to police.

The subject is described as a male believed to be in his late 20s, standing between 5'10 and 6'0 and weighing about 175 pounds with a short beard and close cropped haircut.
