NOPD investigating two shootings

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is investigating two shootings that happened Wednesday night.

NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting in the Behrman area.

The shooting happened in the 2900 block of General Degaulle Drive. The incident left one victim dead and a second injured, according to the report.

NOPD said around 1:06 p.m., officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the area.

Officers found an unresponsive male suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. The victim was transported to an area hospital via EMS, where he later died from his injuries, according to NOPD.

A second victim arrived at an area hospital with gunshot wounds to the side and leg. The victim was undergoing surgery Wednesday night.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

A second shooting was reported in New Orleans East.

The shooting happened at the intersection of Hammond and Eunice streets. According to NOPD, a male victim arrived to an area hospital.
