BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - A bill on Governor John Bel Edwards' desk would remove the requirement for developers to incorporate affordable housing into new projects.

According to our partners at NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune, The Greater New Orleans housing alliance wants the governor to veto the legislation.

The New Orleans City Council opposes the bill.

The bill removes language in a law that references "inclusionary zoning" and changes it to "voluntary economic incentives."
