(WVUE) -

The University of  New Orleans (28-30) pulled another stunner at the Southland tourney, upsetting 4-seed Houston Baptist, 3-1. On Wednesday night, the eighth-seeded Privateers beat 1-seed Sam Houston State. UNO clinched a spot in the semifinals on its side of the bracket with the win over HBU.

UNO collected all their runs in the third frame. Orynn Veillon's two-run double gave the Privateers the edge.

Should the Privateers win Friday night, they would move on to the championship game in a winner-take-all game. The game time depends on both sides of the bracket as it is a double elimination prior to the championship game.
