Greek Fest organizers celebrate New Orleans Tricentennial at 2018 festival

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Those who attended the 2018 Greek Festival on the Banks of Bayou St. John in Mid City enjoyed more than just the food and dancing to Greek music. Attendees got to witness a re-enactment of Bienville's 1969 voyages on the Mississippi River in partnership with the indigenous people of New Orleans.

Festival coordinators wanted to put on a particularly memorable event to celebrate the city's Tricentennial Anniversary.

Some of the food items attendees enjoyed were traditional Greek fare like gyros, lamb and baklava.
